Lent with WTC: From Seed to Tree (the seedling)
Mar 23, 2025Reflection Point: “The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” —James Allen
Scripture: Then Jesus said, “This is what God’s kingdom is like. It’s as though someone scatters seed on the ground, then sleeps and wakes night and day. The seed sprouts and grows, but the farmer doesn’t know how. The earth produces crops all by itself, first the stalk, then the head, then the full head of grain. Whenever the crop is ready, the farmer goes out to cut the grain because it’s harvesttime.” (Mark 4:26-29)
Wisdom from a Mystic: “God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.” —Saint Teresa of Calcutta
How has your seedling changed your perception of your wounds and strengths? What dreams call your seedling to grow toward the sacred light? Reflect on the role and importance of silence in your growing process.
Practice: Create a prayer to the Sacred about your seedling. Name the dream that gives it life.
Fasting: What will you abstain from or release to dream your seedling into being?
Giving: Growing a giving heart...what can you offer to nurture your transformation? It can be an act of kindness, a self-care practice, or a donation of your time, talent, and resources
